So as you all can see, I made this blog last December. I wasn't really that into it, so I sort of "let it go". However, since then a lot has been going on!
My boyfriend & I moved out of our apartment & into our first home! (Very exciting!) Living in a house is much more different than living in an apartment. You learn new things everyday. My main thing right now is upkeep, upkepp, upkeep!!! I find it much more difficult to keep things in order in a home. Yes, I know it's weird because a home is SO much larger than an apartment. But seriously, when we moved in, I had these visions in my head of how I wanted the interrior to look. Well acheiving those "looks" is a lot harder than thought. So right now I am going room by room and trying new things. The key, room by room. This is my new philosophy on getting the home "done". I say "done" because now that I have lived here for over two months, I have come to realize a home is never "done". You always want to make changes and you always want something better.
So, things to focus on: (weather your home is new OR NOT)
-Organization- I have found that the more organized I am, the eaiser my life is. I am a new fan of bowls, baskets, bins & containers. I will post some examples later.
-Cleanliness- A home tends to gather more dust, bugs & mold than an apartment. I suggest one massive cleaning day; wipe EVERYTHING down with bleach and hot water. Then upkeep once a week. (It will only take a few minutes out of your day.) I also try to vacuum once a week, but haven't really been "on it" recently.
-Germs-One thing I LOVE about home living is having our own washer & dryer. LOVE IT! It's very important to wash your bath towels, bath matts & bed sheets every week. Germs suck.
Great products to kill germs & clean; Lysol Disinfecting Wipes & Lysol Disinfectant Spray.
My goal with this blog is to share what I learn and what I know. It isn't always going to be based on home living and cleaning. It will be about life. Beacuse I want to. :)
Good luck with this. We've been in our first home since September and we've barely gotten anything accomplished. I'm finally getting around to all of it :(
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) It take time! That is something I have come to realize!!
